What is Kalima?

An ambitious initiative of Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) launched in 2007 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

Kalima was launched with the aim of reviving the translation movement in the Arab world and supporting the vibrant cultural activity in Abu Dhabi to boost its contributions to the regional and international cultural landscape.

Additionally, we seek to establish an Arab cultural renaissance that incorporates various branches of human knowledge, with books as its pillars, in addition to organising translation-related events and activities.
