Where is Kalima headquartered?
Kalima bookstores are found in the Department Of Culture And Tourism - Abu Dhabi's offices in the Nation Towers, Corniche, Abu Dhabi, on the twelth floor.
How many Kalima publications are there?
900 books (as of December 2016), translated from more than 13 languages, in the following categories: General Knowledge; Philosophy and Psychology; Humanities; Natural and Exact/Applied Sciences; Arts and Sports; Literature; History, Geography and Biography; and Children and Teens.

Kalima staff can be found in the Kalima wing of the Abu Dhabi Book Fair which is held annually (April-May). Kalima representatives are also found in the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority’s wing in Arab and international book fairs.

What types of books does Kalima translate?
The most important modern and contemporary publications in literature, science, and humanities, and also children’s books and some classics.
What languages does Kalima translate from?
Kalima seeks to translate from foreign languages as much as possible. Today the project has translated from thirteen languages, including: English, French, Spanish, German, Hindi, Turkish, Chinese, Swedish, Italian, Dutch, Russian, Polish and Kurdish.
Does Kalima finance translations for other projects?
Kalima does not finance translations for other projects.
How do you provide an excellent translation for publication with Kalima?
Translators must read the book before suggesting it. When they suggest the book for translation, they must present a summary of the book’s topic and its importance, in addition to information on the editor, its date of publication, the number of pages, and its link on Amazon. If the book is accepted by the Executive Board, the translator must provide a translation sample (5-10 pages). Once the sample is approved, the project undertakes the necessary procedures in order to supply translation and publication rights, and then commissions the translator to translate the book.

Who is responsible for choosing the books that are translated?
All books suggested for translation are brought before the Executive Board. Project administration issues a decision based on the determinations of the Executive Board.
